AMS 87th ANNUAL MEETING
San Antonio, Texas
14-18 January 2007

A delicate rope-shaped tornado strikes the El
Reno, Oklahoma, airpark on April 24th, 2006. This tornado is unusual
in that it rotated clockwise (anticyclonic in the northern hemisphere).

A shelf cloud from a severe thunderstorm travels
down a desolate stretch of highway in western Nebraska.

The circular base of a rotating
thunderstorm spins it's way across the prairies of western Oklahoma.
This storm produced hail to the size of baseballs.
